This anecdote comes from Judith Gunhouse:
When in 2A, I was almost bottom of the class. My form position was 31st. I was really getting some stick from my parents. I was really relieved when my Mum came back from Open Evening smiling. I was quite taken back. She assured my Dad that I was doing very well as Mr. Collette said that all of the class were university material and that they were so competitive that "they would do anything for an extra half mark."!!
