Buildings (External)
Photos have been provided by Brian Ardron, a pupil in 1948-55.

The Main Building and Playground April 1939
Here's an open challenge. What were the rooms shown on the above photo?
The room top left was for Geography. The teacher used to keep a supply of National Geographic magazines for us to browse through. The buildings on the right hand side were for Craft, I think.

The Metalwork Shop
If ever you pass the Metalwork Shop,
If I were you, I should certainly stop
And watch the boys all working there;
The noise is like that of an Easter Fair.
Some say that the noise is not good for the ear,
But step right inside. There's nothing to fear;
You'll soon get used to the terrible din,
And turn your attention to boys cutting tin.
They'll make you a scoop or a small tin tray
And even if offered it, they never take pay.
So when you are leaving, I think you'll agree
That the Metalwork Shop is a grand place to be.

Grounds Pre-1955
The photo looks towards the school from near the Second XV rugby pitch. The North Walk is to the right of the camera. The Horse Chestnut tree in the centre of the running track oval can be seen on the right.
