To contact the site email Dave davmckenz@aol.com or Sheila sheilan@bethere.co.uk .  Material has been received from Harry Parker (HGS 1936-40). Photos have been received from Mr. Parkinson (HGS Staff member 1960-67). These include an unknown Third Form 1960-61. Could you please let us know the name of the Form? Letters written by Major Jenkinson to pupils and staff of the first school at which he was Headmaster are now on the site's School History Section. If you have a Prefects photo for 1955-56 or 1959-60 could you please let the site have a copy? Thank you.

The Girls Arch 1954

"This picture shows what beautiful grounds we enjoyed in the early fifties. The school had its own full time groundsman and gardner who though quite unsung, did a wonderful job creating this kind of beauty throughout the grounds which were extensive."
Geoff Graham

Remember the Cricket Pavilion was built on a long pile of earth which had originally formed the old Air-raid shelters? The High Jump Pit was nearby, and if one walked from there back towards the Fives Courts on the right, went under the Girl's Arch and passed the tiny "bridge" over the dry ditch on the left, one could turn right and end up near the Dell and the Domestic Science room.

Just seen item in "Girls' Arch" section re cricket pavillion. It was moved to the "top of a pile of earth" to make way for the new Science Block, but until then was roughly near the (then) new Biology Lab.
