The Radio Society, which was only formed in 1952, is making good progress, and shows great promise for the coming year. The meetings have, so far, been spent in getting a thorough grounding in the principles of Radio Receiving and Transmitting and it has now been decided to devote the first part of future meetings to the study of morse code and Amateur abbreviations. Owing to the lack of equipment, not many practical meetings have been held. We hope, however, in the near future, with the help from school funds, to buy our own communication receiver and build a transmitter. One of our biggest draw-backs so far has been the lack of literature and it would be of considerable advantage if the Library could be furnished with theoretical books and a monthly magazine. The Society would like to express its appreciation to Mr. Farrar [Photo above] for his help and advice.
