It was Heats Day at Hemsworth Grammar School on Monday, and in the 18 finals which were run off, there were two records. Marrion Pearson won the Intermediate Girls' Javelin event with a record throw of 73ft. 11in. and Nicholls threw the Cricket Ball a record distance of 160ft. 7in. in the Under 12 boys' event.
